The Enterprise Architect is responsible for the process of translating business vision and strategy into effective enterprise change by creating, communicating and improving the key principles and models that describe the enterprise's future state and enable its evolution through a feasible roadmap.
The Enterprise Architect will provide industry specific advice on the Technology product portfolio to key customers to help them incrementally transform their Information Systems and meet their business objectives.They will oversee the collaborative process of working with key customers to realise the full value of their investment in Oracle’s products and services. The Enterprise Architect Level must develop long-term trusted business and technical relationships with decision makers and be an integral part of the sales account team. They will embed themselves into the client’s strategic process and will work hand-in-hand with them to ensure their success in utilizing the broad spectrum of Oracle’s products and services.
The Enterprise Architect brings together the people, processes, information and technology of the enterprise and maps their relationships to one another and to the external environment. An Enterprise Architect will work across multiple solution domains and will be responsible for bringing elements from those domains together into a feasible customer solution. The Enterprise Architect works with Solution Architects and Technology Architects to develop a consistent actionable future state through guidance and governance at the program level.
Scope
- Reports into the UK&IE Tech Consulting team
- Works closely with Sales, Presales and Consulting roles across business units
- Contributes to the achievement of relevant industry or territory license/consulting revenue target
- Typically deployed at the client to maximise customer value, demand generation and license consumption.
- Provide overall solution stewardship allowing program managers to deploy business solutions aligned to an overall business strategy
- Skilled at presenting to C-level audiences focusing on demonstrating the business value of solutions rather than technical detail
- Experience in delivery of complex cross-pillar solutions utilising Oracle products
- Maintains up to date knowledge of competitive & partner technology offerings
- Maintains up to date product and technical knowledge of the Oracle portfolio and roadmap for an industry
- Collaborates with development and other LOBs to create and maintain reference processes and architectures, solutions and best practices for an industry
- Gives guidance to customers setting up and running an Architecture Governance Board
- Knowledge and experience in the application of Oracle architecture engagement processes and tools
- Knowledge of and experience in mapping business drivers to IT Strategy within an industry
- Knowledge of the important standards for business processes, information models and architectural models generally applied in an industry
- Knowledge of and experience in application of Oracle architecture offerings within Presales & Consulting
- Knowledge of and experience applying enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. Zachman Framework, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF))
- Knowledge of and experience in architectural frameworks, blueprints, patterns and prescriptive architectures and applying these to enterprise class architectures
- Knowledge and experience in application of requirements capture & definition, architecture, detailed system design, data modelling and n-tier application architectures
- Experience in planning and managing enterprise class programs and projects
- Collaborate with the sales team to create strategic account plans
- Provide the account team with insights about customer’s key issues and business priorities
- Act as a conduit between customer and Oracle lines of business to create a collaborative relationship
- Utilises in-depth industry knowledge to advice Oracle, partners, and customers on industry best practices and technology
- Examines industry trends, emerging technologies, and market competitors to position Oracle's industry product/service offerings
- Maximizes long term revenue attainment for Oracle from the specific industry(s) or accounts
- Jointly, with other Consulting Architects and Consulting product specialists, delivers Enterprise Architecture engagements such as detailed business cases, scoping studies, process optimization studies and audits
- Follows Oracle service offerings for engagement delivery and provides feedback on the effectiveness of the collateral
- Carries accountability for engagement delivery based on Oracle service offerings at a Program Level
- Contributes to implementation delivery projects as steering committee member and/or Architecture Board to ensure consistency with Architecture guidelines
- Interacts with Enterprise Architects (internal and external) to understand the implications of the enterprise transformations on program objectives
- Aligns project delivery to established enterprise modelling activities (turning enterprise blueprints into actionable program objectives
- Is viewed as a recognised authority on industry best practices and solutions
- Focuses on Oracle solutions appropriate to the client's strategic and near-term, future and high-impact needs
- Manages client's expectations and modifies them as appropriate to ensure risk mitigation
- Influences and addresses the concerns of key decision makers in the client organization
- Ensures client reference ability, built upon personal and team credibility, reinforcing the client's confidence in Oracle's capabilities based upon the delivery of best solutions, communication practices, as well as anticipation of and responsiveness to the client's needs
- Define feasible solution architectures that address the client business requirements while maximizing the use of Oracle technology and services
- Ensures architecture consistency and cohesion across the customer IT environment under span of control and lead or contribute to the architecture roadmap definition at the enterprise level, appropriately positioning Oracle technology in developing future customer solutions
- Establish strong working relationships with the customer as a trusted advisor and IT solution partner
- Conducts Insight, Architecture & Blueprint or Roadmap customer engagements where appropriate
