Hitwise provides its 1,500 clients (500+ UK) around the world with daily insights on how their customers interact with a broad range of competitive websites, and how their competitors use different tactics to attract online customers.

The Business Development Manager’s role is to achieve annual revenue targets by selling a portfolio of digital solutions to prospect accounts. Sales will be generated from a combination of inbound enquiries and external prospecting. The successful candidate will be comfortable communicating across organisations and be an expert a positioning a complex solution in a manner that addresses a prospect’s key business drivers. Passion and knowledge of the digital space is vital.

OBJECTIVES:

·Report into Business Development Director (BDD) to manage a portfolio of up to 120 prospect accounts

·Achieve annual revenue sales targets against Project and Licence revenue objectives

·C-Level Engagement across portfolio

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGERS:

·Create an annual business plan to highlight all areas for opportunity and to deliver against this plan

·Research new sales opportunities and develop detailed business development plans by client/product etc for assigned target accounts

·Generate revenues from prospect accounts by:

- understanding prospect’s needs (both strategic and tactical) and selling to those needs

- identifying and closing opportunities within prospect accounts to sell Hitwise CI Services, Custom Projects and partnership solutions such as Techlightenment and Hitwise Search Services

- identifying new opportunities within existing client organisations (Family Tree)

- facilitating cross-selling and business development opportunities for colleagues in the wider Experian Group

·Ensuring that activity levels are sufficient to deliver a solid pipeline of opportunities that will deliver an on-target performance

·Acting promptly to resolve issues, employing appropriate Experian resources/referrals where required

·Taking personal accountability for facilitating and enhancing relationship building at all levels within target client organisations

·Attend sales meetings and report on sales progress on a weekly basis to Business Development Director

·Participate in team and individual training programs.

·Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual performance reviews.

·Maintain accurate records within the Salesforce CRM system of all interaction, communication and potential opportunities at all time

CORE COMPETENCIES:

·New Business sales experience

·Ability to close deals and develop client relationships at CxO level

·Digital marketing knowledge / expertise

·College degree or equivalent work experience.

·Superior time management and prioritization practices.

·Strong presentation and communications skills.

·Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up and follow through habits.

·A diligent work ethic and the drive to “go the extra mile.”

·Flexible, adaptable team player with strong interpersonal skills.

·Resourceful and highly motivated to succeed.

·Familiarity with syndicated research services or ratings service preferred.

TRAVEL: Approximately 70% of working week
