Media Planning is responsible for driving audience reach by maximising the value of the BBC's promotional space; scheduling trails and other marketing messages strategically across all our channels, networks and services.
We're looking to recruit an Assistant Media Scheduler scheduling all BBC promotional items on a given service or services in line with the marketing, editorial and scheduling timescales. In addition you’ll also be responsible for applying the principles of media planning, marketing and advertising and using all available audience data to create the most audience focused promotions schedule. Responsible for ensuring schedules are editorially sound, meets all the requirements of transmission and is fit for broadcast. As well as being responsible for the scheduling scheduling and optimising of BBC promotional media content across Television, Radio and/or Online/iPlayer. You’ll also be responsible for achieving campaign and cross-promotion targets, monitoring and tracking channel playout, informing Media Portfolio Leads and Campaign Planners on performance/issues. In addition to supporting in the identification of tactical cross promotion opportunities to navigate viewers/listeners to other BBC services/events.
You’ll have an understanding of the editorial and transmission requirements of a broadcast or media schedule. With an appreciation of scheduling and creative media solutions. Also an informed interest in developments in audience research techniques and systems. You’ll need an understanding of media research and marketing within a broadcast environment and have the ability to analyse viewing data and write reports. You’ll need to be highly numerate and strong attention to detail. As well as having Excellent time management and able to work to deadlines. In addition to possessing excellent communication skills, assertive and tactful.
